In 2026, the East Stanislaus Resource Conservation District celebrates 30 years of working alongside our community to care for the land and natural resources of Stanislaus County.
Since 1996, our work has been rooted in partnerships with farmers, ranchers, landowners, educators, and our Stanislaus County community, helping protect soil, water, wildlife habitat, and working lands for future generations.
Throughout this anniversary year, we will be sharing stories from our past, highlighting the people who make this work possible, and celebrating the partnerships that continue to shape our future.

Thirty years ago, a small group of local leaders came together with a shared belief that caring for the land works best when it is led by the community itself. In 1996, that belief became the East Stanislaus Resource Conservation District.
From the start, our work has been shaped by the landscapes of eastern Stanislaus County. From productive soils and working farms to winding rivers and wildlife habitat, this place has always guided what we do. Rather than prescribing solutions, ESRCD was built to listen, collaborate, and support landowners and partners in ways that respect both the land and the people who depend on it.
Over the years, that locally driven approach has helped bring conservation plans to life through partnerships, technical support, and funding that strengthens agriculture, restores habitat, and protects water resources. Along the way, we have worked side by side with farmers, agencies, educators, and community members who share a commitment to stewardship.
As we celebrate 30 years, our story is still being written. The challenges facing our land and water continue to change, but our purpose remains the same: to work alongside our community to care for the natural resources that sustain Stanislaus County, now and for generations to come.
