In 2026, the East Stanislaus Resource Conservation District celebrates 30 years of working alongside our community to care for the land and natural resources of Stanislaus County.
Since 1996, our work has been rooted in partnerships with farmers, ranchers, landowners, educators, and our Stanislaus County community, helping protect soil, water, wildlife habitat, and working lands for future generations.
Throughout this anniversary year, we will be sharing stories from our past, highlighting the people who make this work possible, and celebrating the partnerships that continue to shape our future.
Throughout 2026, we will be hosting community events and workshops to celebrate 30 years of conservation in Stanislaus County.
These events will include opportunities to connect with our staff, partners, farmers, and community members, learn more about our programs, and celebrate the people who make this work possible.
You can support our work through a selection of items that reflect the land, plants, and animals we care for here in Stanislaus County. As we celebrate 30 years of conservation, these pieces offer a way to stay connected to the work happening on the ground. From t-shirts and totes to enamel pins and stickers, each item connects back to the landscapes and communities we serve.
Together, these items help share the story of local agriculture and habitat, while offering simple ways for our community to stay connected to conservation in their day-to-day lives. Proceeds support our education programs, restoration projects, and agricultural conservation efforts across the region.

As part of our 30th anniversary celebration, ESRCD is inviting our community to take part in a simple challenge: give 30 minutes to conservation.
Starting in Earth Month, we’re encouraging community members, families, students, landowners, and supporters to spend 30 minutes doing something that helps care for the natural and working lands of Stanislaus County. Small actions matter, and when many people take part, those efforts add up.
Whether you plant pollinator-friendly flowers, pick up litter in your neighborhood, water a tree, share what you know about conservation, or spend time improving a garden or outdoor space, your 30 minutes helps celebrate 30 years of local conservation in action.
We are collecting and sharing stories from throughout the years of the East Stanislaus Resource Conservation District and the people who helped shape our work.
These stories will highlight how our programs began, how our work has grown, and how community partnerships have guided our mission over the past 30 years.
New stories will be added throughout the year.
Thirty years ago, a small group of local leaders came together with a shared belief that caring for the land works best when it is led by the community itself. In 1996, that belief became the East Stanislaus Resource Conservation District.
From the start, our work has been shaped by the landscapes of eastern Stanislaus County. From productive soils and working farms to winding rivers and wildlife habitat, this place has always guided what we do. Rather than prescribing solutions, ESRCD was built to listen, collaborate, and support landowners and partners in ways that respect both the land and the people who depend on it.
Over the years, that locally driven approach has helped bring conservation plans to life through partnerships, technical support, and funding that strengthens agriculture, restores habitat, and protects water resources. Along the way, we have worked side by side with farmers, agencies, educators, and community members who share a commitment to stewardship.
As we celebrate 30 years, our story is still being written. The challenges facing our land and water continue to change, but our purpose remains the same: to work alongside our community to care for the natural resources that sustain Stanislaus County, now and for generations to come.
