As part of our 30th anniversary celebration, ESRCD is inviting our community to take part in a simple challenge: give 30 minutes to conservation!
We’re inviting community members, families, students, landowners, and supporters to spend 30 minutes doing something that helps care for the natural and working lands of Stanislaus County. We’ll be highlighting community submissions throughout the year in our newsletter and on social media as part of our 30th anniversary celebration.
Complete one 30-minute conservation action and share it with us in one of these ways:
Option 1: Tag @eaststanrcd on Instagram or Facebook and post a photo of your activity
Option 2: Email info@eaststanrcd.org with a photo and a short note about what you did so we can share it.

Care for Plants & Habitat
Spend time supporting the plants and spaces that provide food and habitat for pollinators and wildlife.
- Plant pollinator-friendly flowers or native plants in your yard or garden
- Start seeds for a garden, habitat planting, or future project
- Plant a tree in your yard or a shared space
- Tend to a garden bed by mulching or refreshing the space
- Add a simple pollinator water source to your yard using a shallow dish with stones

Clean & Care for Spaces
Help keep shared spaces clean and usable for both people and wildlife
- Pick up litter in your neighborhood, a local park, or a wildlife reserve
- Clear weeds or debris from a garden or shared space
- Connect with a local school to help clean up their garden

Learn & Explore
Spend time noticing and learning about the natural spaces around you
- Go for a walk and notice what plants, birds, animals, or insects you see
- Learn the names and benefits of a few native plants or pollinators in your area
- Read or watch something about soil, water, habitat, or local conservation efforts
- Take part in a guided nature walk
- Look up and identify one bird you see or hear, and take a moment to learn more about it
