Our Watershed Project established a Watershed Coordinator for the Middle San Joaquin- Lower Merced- Lower Tuolumne, Lower Stanislaus Watershed. Through this project, the RCD has developed a watershed plan for Eastern Stanislaus County. Our coordinator has helped to foster important communication between the agricultural and environmental communities, while working with stakeholders toward the following goals:
- Development and implementation of a drought resiliency strategy
- Breaking down communication barriers through workshops on best management practices for producers
- Farm tours for regulatory and non-regulatory agencies to better understand agricultural practices and challenges
- Securing funds for Stanislaus County producers for projects benefiting water quality and supply
