The Great Sierra River Cleanup!
The ESRCD has assisted in the organization and planning of the annual Great Sierra River Cleanup for the past four years. The River Cleanup is a partnership with the California Coastal Cleanup Day in an effort to remove garbage from all of
California’s waterways, and is the largest volunteer event in the state. Last year over 100 volunteers cleaned up three locations along the Stanislaus River and removed close to 1,500 pounds of trash and recyclables. The event provides a great opportunity for all involved to learn about California’s water sources and positively contribute to a vital part of our environment.
Join us in Riverbank and Oakdale for this year’s Cleanup on Saturday, September 16th, 2017! Stay tuned for more details!
